ArthurArthur saysThe fireplace is rather comforting on an evening like this. My seat is on the window side of the table, at the end nearest the fire. With my glasses and white beard, I should be fairly easy to spot.

NellNell saysMy friend with the blonde hair and pink jacket has promised to help me choose dessert. We prefer facing each other so we can chat properly. That puts me on the window side, with the white-haired gentleman immediately beside me.

EddieEddie saysGrandad always insists on keeping warm, whereas I tend to overheat. Rather than squeeze in beside him, my place is directly across the table from him, on the carpet side. Apparently, my burgundy jumper makes me look warm enough already.

LucyLucy saysThe woman in the teal jacket is an old university friend of mine. Since we have plenty to talk about, we’ve chosen seats directly opposite each other. I’m the one with round glasses, dark curls and a blue patterned blouse.

PriyaPriya saysEmma and I haven’t caught up properly for months, so we’ve arranged to sit next to each other. Of the two places beside her, mine is the one towards the television. My teal jacket should distinguish me from the other guests.

EmmaEmma saysEddie is my older brother, although people rarely notice the resemblance. We’re sitting side by side, with my seat one place closer to the television than his. Hopefully, he can get through dinner without spilling gravy on my pink jacket.

KenjiKenji saysLucy has persuaded me to keep her company on the window side. My seat is immediately beside hers, towards the television, with nobody beyond me at that end. At least my grey jacket won’t show any accidental stains.

SophieSophie saysMy cousin in the grey jacket takes football far too seriously. Sitting directly opposite him should make it easier to distract him whenever he glances at the television. I’m also beside the woman in teal, though closer to the television than she is.
