Although the table by the door looks inviting, I’d rather sit at the window table, on its back-wall side. Of the two chairs along that edge, mine is the left-hand one when looking towards the window from the room side.
Rose
As the birthday guest, I’d appreciate some company. The chair immediately beside the young gentleman in the pale-blue shirt suits me perfectly, provided we’re on the same side of the table.
Nell
I’d prefer to face the gentleman whose shirt is pale blue, rather than sit alongside him. That should leave me on the room-facing side of his table.
Asha
The auburn-haired woman in the ivory blouse seems delightful. I’d like the chair beside hers, with the bespectacled lady in pink directly opposite me.
Daniel
I’d rather be at the other table, along the same back-wall edge as the gentleman in blue. Of the two chairs there, I’d prefer whichever is nearer the gap between the tables.
Grace
Despite my preference for the window, keeping the gentleman in the mustard-coloured sweater company matters more. The adjacent chair on his side of the table would be ideal.
Felix
A seat opposite the clean-shaven gentleman in mustard would suit me better than one beside him. That way, neither of us has to turn sideways to keep the conversation going.
Clara
I’d be quite content beside the red-haired gentleman with the neatly trimmed beard, provided the silver-haired lady in the green cardigan is directly across the table from me.
